Parallels RAS is an all-in-one application delivery and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution that enables users to work remotely from anywhere, on any device, at any time.
Parallels RAS is an all-in-one application delivery and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution that enables users to work remotely from anywhere, on any device, at any time.
This cloud-ready software empowers organizations to centralize IT infrastructure management, integrate with Windows Virtual Desktop, streamline multi-cloud deployment and more.
RAS addresses the specific use case of Azure Virtual Desktop, where it supports, integrates and extends AVD capabilities by providing organizations with a unified administrative and end-user experience. Parallels RAS configures and maintains AVD and other resources alike, supporting private, hybrid or multi-cloud deployments for ultimate flexibility and end-user productivity.
From a single pane of glass, the Parallels RAS Console allows IT administrators to streamline, provision and manage Azure Virtual Desktop workloads and components – such as workspaces, host pools and application groups—via wizards.
It’s described in detail in this solution briefing, and this video showcases managing multiple Azure Virtual Desktop environments stored in different Azure subscriptions with Parallels RAS. It covers creating Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) providers and configuring workspaces, Host pools, application groups, FSLogix, template images, multiple MFA, filtering, and much more.
Awingu
In June 2022, Corel® Corporation, home to the Parallels® brand, acquired Awingu. While both Awingu and Parallels RAS enable access to virtual workspaces, they each have their strengths and cater to different use cases.
Unlike most solutions in the market, Awingu does not require agents on the server or software to be installed on end-user devices. Awingu runs entirely in the browser, where it aggregates all company files and applications, including SaaS and legacy Windows or Linux applications into one online workspace with one login.
This ease of use and simplified deployment enables customers to deploy Awingu in hours, empowering IT departments of all sizes to enable secure remote workspaces for their end-users.
Both Awingu and Parallels products will be offered to deliver secure remote workspaces to customers. Additionally, Awingu will integrate with Parallels to accelerate innovation and provide a unified capability for secure remote access to both legacy and cloud-native applications.
