Manage Your Multi-cloud Identity Infrastructure with Microsoft Entra

As they announced here, Microsoft has re-branded their identity suite to ‘Entra’.

This encapsulates and builds upon their Active Directory foundation and extends it further into a new world of Cloud and Decentralized Identity.

Irina Nechaeva explains the details, highlighting that there are no changes to any existing Azure AD capabilities, and the change reflects the expanded portfolio, which now also includes Entra Permissions Management, Entra Verified ID, Entra ID Governance, Entra Workload ID, Entra Internet Access and Entra Private Access.

Overall this new strategy is intended to position Entra as a single solution to centrally manage your entire identity infrastructure.

Whether hybrid across your on-premises systems and the Microsoft Cloud, or across services spanning multiple clouds, like AWS, Google Cloud Platform and your favorite SaaS apps.

In this presentation Joey Cruz, from the identity team at Microsoft, highlights the comprehensive capabilities of Microsoft Entra, including unified identity management, that spans beyond your Microsoft estate and beyond Azure Active Directory. He demonstrates new and unique capabilities for the day-to-day management of your users and workloads.

Jeremy Chapman demonstrates how to automate onboarding & offboarding tasks with Microsoft Entra, highlighting that lifecycle workflows in Microsoft Entra ID Governance can help with pre-built templates for common tasks.

He further explains how to migrate from Active Directory Federation Services to Entra ID, showcasing capabilities like certificate-based auth, group filtering, group transformation, token augmentation and phish-resistant passwordless authentication.
